In January 2021, join Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary as we take our annual film festival online! For the first time ever the Thunder Bay International Film Festival will be a virtual experience including online film screenings, live-stream interviews, Q&A and panel sessions with filmmakers, scientists, and ocean and Great Lakes stewards.
Now in its 9th year, the Thunder Bay International Film Festival (TBIFF) is a festival of independent ocean and Great Lakes films from all over the world. Themes range from adventure and science to marine life and coastal cultures. Films are selected to not only entertain audiences but also educate and inspire people to participate in environmental and stewardship efforts in and around the ocean and Great Lakes. The Thunder Bay International Film Festival is produced in partnership with the International Ocean Film Festival.

On going fundraising for restoration of Cheboygan Veterans Park
The park was originally established right after World War I. 34 trees were planted to honor 34 local veterans KIA. Additional monuments were added over the years, however for the most part the park had been neglected until now. A committee of volunteer veterans started a complete restoration project a couple of years ago and we have just completed phase 2. We have an active Facebook page and also a GoFundMe site.
A detailed description can be found at those sites including our brick sales. Any and all help raising funds for this vital Northern Michigan veterans project is very much appreciated!
